This is a key leadership position and a prime opportunity for the right candidate. 

The Behavioral Health Director provides administrative, strategic, clinical and operational leadership to all behavioral health services and programs including outpatient, community-based services, and new programs. This individual will work collaboratively with the leadership team to develop programs to serve the behavioral health care needs of the broader community. This position is responsible for maximizing growth, development and profitability of Behavioral Health programs. This position ensures that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people in place to effectively grow the organization. The Behavioral Health Director provides the leadership, management and vision necessary through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives and culture of the company. 


  • Oversee and develop standards of operations that optimize efficiency, effectiveness and quality. 

  • Develops and maintains an effective performance improvement program with measurable, pertinent, and realistic performance criteria to monitor and improve Service Line Programs. 

  • Develops, maintains and revises BH department, goals, policies, procedures and standards in accordance with regulating guidelines and best practices. 

  • Works in collaboration with the Medical Officer, Strategic Development Director and members of senior leadership team in achieving strategic planning and quality strategy goals. 

  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Program Productivity, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Quality Improvement. 


  • Works collaboratively with CFO to develop BH programs’ revenue goals, budgetary guidelines and objectives, financial projections and analyses of existing and new programs. 

  • Accountable for BH programs’ productivity and profitability. Maximize growth and development opportunities. 

  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. 


  • Leads efforts in behavioral health business development initiatives including oversight and management of design and implementation of new programs/products for consumers. Successful implementation will include standard processes, quality measurement and performance measurement. 

  • Oversees the planning and opening of new office locations 


  • Provide leadership and oversight to programs through direct supervision of Behavioral Associate Directors and the effective management of their team(s). 

  • Build and lead an effective team who consistently deliver high-quality work that fulfills GN’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities, while meeting or exceeding performance indicators. 

  • Work collaboratively with HR to develop and integrate staffing programs designed to attract and retain the highest caliber of talent. 

  • Provide clear direction on strategic goals, translating and prioritizing them into business and performance measures. 


  • Keep abreast of state initiatives, and state regulations effecting services and works with regional leaders to maintain compliance with state regulations 

  • Acts as main point of contact for Licensing, DMAS, MCOs and other governing bodies 

  • Develop and maintain outcomes and metric reporting systems for quality and compliance.  


- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Human Services or related field required.

- Current Licensure (LCSW, LPC) or Master's Degree in related field preferred.  

- 3-5 years supervisory experience in Mental Health/Behavioral Health or healthcare setting 

- 3-5 years experience with business administration, operations, development, and/or project management
