Janet is Good Neighbor’s newest Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has been in the nursing field for 38 years. Janet graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and received Master's of Science, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.
She heard about Good Neighbor through her preceptor when she was in school and wanted to be a part of the community that was so highly talked about.
“Good Neighbor is very welcoming, helpful, and able to answer every question you might have in order to be successful every day.”
Janet thrives on interactions with others and being able to talk to all types of people. She cares about being authentic and genuine in order to connect with people and make a difference in each of their lives.
“You’ve got to be able to take that moment when you know people really need it. It makes the world of a difference.” Janet is currently taking all kinds of patients with mental health issues or people who need just someone to listen.
In her personal life, Janet is a frequent Starbucks customer. She enjoys taking walks in the park, especially when there is water involved, and being active in the Richmond community through volunteer activities and attending many of the ongoing music festivals. She has a dog named Nugget, because “nugget” means he’s worth gold.
